Carolina "Lina" Carattini:

She was born on January 16th, 1990 in Chicago, IL.  As she says her wonderful parents Guadalupe Grazette and Fransico Carattini mean the world to her.  At the age of 2 her parents and her picked up and moved to Indiana to be closer to her grandparents.  She would say that Indiana was a good luck charm for me because thats where her love for music over took her.  She started 2nd grade at Kyle Elementary in Portage, Indiana.  Where they had a talent show showcasing everyone from dancing, to juggling.  Going to Kyle was extremely hard for her being, at that time, the only African American girl there.  Being excepted by her peers didn't come easy.  So, she found her outlet and form of thearpy in music.  When she heard about the talent show she was so excited and ready to just let everything out.  Of course her mom was bit confused since she never knew she was interested in Singing in English let alone Spanish.  She wanted to take on the hit song from Selena "Como La Flor".  Once my mom saw my drive for performing she was behind me 100%. Then a few yrs after her talent show she took dance classes that were out of Chicago. And after that she continued in her career in show-biz @ age 3 she was on her way 2 Broadway and then she continued 2 do even better and bigger things!! And that's when she joined the Slumber party Girls.

“Selena is my mentor,” says Lina Carattini. “She’s always been my inspiration. I sing in Spanish as well, so when I discovered her, I fell in love with music. If it wasn’t for her, I would have never picked up a microphone.” Somewhat shy but sweet as pie, Lina is the resident spicy Latina. The half Puerto Rican, half African-American hails from the Midwest, where she once was the duchess of the Miss Puerto Rico of Northwest Indiana. She is embracing her position in SPG as not only the sassy salsa shaker, but as a positive role model for the group’s newfound fans. “As girls, we need to be good role models for the kids out there,” says Lina. “I think we are that. We are letting the kids know to just be yourselves. Don’t go out there and be someone else. Be yourself and let it flow.”
